When it comes to cooling rooms, split ACs are usually the best way forward. The setup process is more complicated for sure, but the fact that the noisy compressor can be placed far away from your bedroom or office is a big plus in the split AC’s favour.
This isn’t just about superior cooling comfort, but also about overall comfort of your living or working environment. With that in mind, here is a selection of the best split ACs you can buy in 2024.

It can operate without a stabiliser, comes with a 10-year warranty on the motor (five years on the PCB), and even a PM2.5 filter that catches the finest dust particles. A great deal when all this and more can be had for just Rs 31,990.
2. LG 6-in-1 convertible 1-ton, 5-star inverter split AC
Created for those with energy efficiency in mind, the LG 6-in-1 convertible AC is designed to cool small rooms with maximum efficiency. Earning a coveted 5-star energy efficiency rating, this powerful little AC consumes just 850W and can cool rooms up to 130 sq ft in size.
It uses a dual inverter compressor to efficiently adjust power based on demand, and boasts of several smart features such as auto cleaning and directional control to ensure the most comfortable cooling experience. At Rs 39,990 it is indeed on the expensive side, but the lower running costs will lead to cost savings in the long run.
3. Voltas Vectra 4-in-1 convertible 1.3-ton 5-star inverter split AC
A larger alternative to the LG model above is the Voltas Vectra. This is also a 5-star rated unit but comes with a larger 1.3 ton capacity. Total power consumption is a mere 870W and airflow is rated at 930 CMH. The most significant contributor to this efficiency and airflow is the twin rotary BLDC compressor in the outdoor unit. You’ll spend a little extra upfront, but electricity bills will be significantly lower over the lifetime of the AC.
4. Godrej 5-in-1 convertible 2-ton, 3-star inverter split AC
For larger rooms, we’d recommend the Godrej SIC 24ITC3WWA. It’s a 2-ton AC with a 3-star energy rating that boasts of a carbon filter for not just dust, but pollutants as well. Close to 2000W power consumption is high, but then again, this AC is designed for cooling large rooms such as halls or office spaces up to 260 sq ft in area. Five levels of cooling and various modes such as dry, fan, and turbo ensure you’re always getting the cooling you need.
5. LLOYD Element Series 5-in-1 convertible 0.8-ton, 3-star inverter split AC
If you need an AC for a small room (less than 100 sq. ft), we’d recommend the Lloyd Element series 0.8-ton AC. Since it’s designed for smaller spaces, power requirements are low and a 4A rated socket is enough.
