Whether you’re an Android or iOS smartphone user, YouTube has always been the go-to platform for video streaming. In fact, the company, in recent times, has also introduced several changes to better its user experience.
Now, a 9to5Google report reveals how YouTube seems to be testing a colour-coordinated video feed for a more visually cohesive experience. If you’re confused about how this will eventually work, here’s what you need to know.
YouTube colour-coordinated video feed: What's there to know?
The feature that is currently under work will allow users to pick between the RGB shades if they’re ‘craving something new’. The platform, for now, hasn’t revealed how it derives the result based on colour, but users might be able to see video thumbnails based on the tint they choose. The functionality essentially curates your feed by analysing the cover or thumbnail of a video.

While it does enhance the feed by grouping all the videos together, it doesn’t seem to be fulfilling any other purpose on the feed. Different coloured video feeds, however, might lend several brands and influencers a helping hand to ensure their videos rank better. Other users believe that this could simply be a data mining technique for YouTube to derive how different audiences react to colours.
How to use the colour-coordinated video feature on YouTube
YouTube is currently testing the feature, and it is only available for a limited number of Android and iOS users. It is also currently difficult to determine if it will be rolled out to the vast majority. Nevertheless, there’s no denying that the idea of maintaining an aesthetically pleasing video feed may certainly be well-received in today’s time.
