YouTube AI feature: What is it and what can it do
The new feature typically allows users to recover their hacked account via YouTube’s Help Centre. It further adds how the chatbot can ask a series of questions to help the said user recover this account, and also additionally help secure their Google login. The AI tool will be known as ‘YouTube’s hacked channel assistant’, and is equipped to undo any changes made to the channel by a malicious element.
For now, YouTube mentions how the chatbot is only available in English; however, the brand is planning to roll out support for several other languages in the near future.
When will YouTube's hacked channel assistant be available for everyone?
YouTube’s hacked channel assistant is still gradually being made available to everyone. That said, Google mentions how it will only be available to a small subset of creators at the beginning. Apart from that, neither team has mentioned as to when the tool will be available to a larger audience.
Google also displays a disclaimer at the beginning, stating that the AI chatbot is still in its nascent stage and may show ‘offensive’ or ‘inaccurate results’. Users also also prompted to approve Google’s Terms of Service and Generative Al Prohibited Use Policy, which mentions how human reviewers will be able to ‘read, annotate, and process’ conversations on the chatbot.
