Xiaomi unveils a foldable smartphone, Pad 6 Max tablet and Mi Band 8 Pro

At a recent launch event, Xiaomi has taken the wraps off a bunch of new devices that include a foldable smartphone, a tablet, and a fitness tracker. The first is the Mix Fold 3, which is Xiaomi’s answer to the Samsung Galaxy Z Fold5. In addition to this, there’s also a Pad 6 Max tablet, and the Mi Band 8 Pro fitness band. Here’s what you need to know about Xiaomi’s latest offerings.

Xiaomi Mix Fold 3: Features and specifications

The new foldable smartphone from Xiaomi features a 6.5-inch outer display with a resolution of 2520 x 1080 pixels and 2,600 nits peak brightness, with support for Dolby Vision and HDR 10+ support. It has a 120Hz refresh rate, 240Hz touch sampling rate, and is protected by Corning Gorilla Glass Victus 2. The 8.03-inch OLED inner display, on the other hand, has a resolution of 2160 x 1916 pixels, with a 120Hz refresh rate, and support for Dolby Vision and HDR 10+ as well.

On the audio front, the Xiaomi Mix Fold 3 features a dual speaker set-up with support for Dolby Atmos.

Powering the Xiaomi Mix Fold 3 is a Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 chipset. The device has three variants – the base variant with 12GB RAM and 256GB storage, the mid-range variant which has 16GB RAM and 512GB storage variant, and the top-of-the-line variant, which features 16GB of RAM and 1 TB of storage. Under the hood, the Xiaomi Mix Fold 3 features a 4,800mAh battery with support for 67W wireless fast charging and 50W wireless fast charging.

The latest smartphone from Xiaomi features a quad-camera setup at the rear, with a 50MP wide camera, a 12MP ultrawide camera, a 10MP telephoto lens and a 10MP periscope lens. On the front is a 20MP camera for selfies and video calls.

The Xiaomi Mix Fold 3 comes running on an MIUI Fold 14 based Android 13 operating system straight out of the box.

Xiaomi Pad 6 Max: Features and specifications

The top-of-the-line Xiaomi Pad 6 Max tablet comes with a 14-inch 2.8K LCD display, with a resolution of 2880 x 1800 pixels and a 120Hz refresh rate. The display also features support for HDR10 and a peak brightness of 600 nits. On the audio front, the tablet comes with as many as eight speakers with support for Dolby Atmos.

Under the hood is a Snapdragon 8+ Gen 1 chipset, which packs up to 16GB of RAM and 1TB storage. There is also a base variant that features 8GB of RAM and 256GB of storage.

Powering the Xiaomi Pad 6 Max is a 10,000mAh battery with support for 67W fast charging. That’s not all though. The tablet also features support for 33W reverse charging.

On the optics front, the Xiaomi Pad 6 Max features a 50MP camera at the rear, and a 20MP camera at the front for selfies and video calls.

Xiaomi Band 8 Pro: Features and specifications

The Xiaomi Mi Band 8 Pro features a 1.74-inch AMOLED display with a 336 x 480 pixel resolution, 60Hz refresh rate and a peak brightness of 600 nits. The smart band features over a 100 watch faces and can be had with up to 20 strap options.

The wearable device features a 5 ATM water resistance rating. Under the hood is a 289mAh battery, which Xiaomi says, has a lifespan of up to 14 days on a single charge. It also features support for NFC connectivity as well as Bluetooth 5.3. Furthermore, the Mi Band 8 Pro also features support for Global Navigation Satellite System (GNSS).

The latest wearable from Xiaomi is equipped with heart rate and blood oxygen levels monitoring capabilities, as well as sleep cycle and women’s health tracking. The device also tracks stress levels and offers several breathing training programs, along with over 150 sports modes.

The Xiaomi Mi Band 8 Pro comes with Xiaomi’s voice assistant in-built. Besides this, it also comes with call and incoming notification alerts, amongst other features.
