Xiaomi HyperOS update announced for these devices in the second quarter of 2024

It’s not been long since Xiaomi announced the rollout of the HyperOS skin for its smartphones in India, replacing the long-used MIUI skin. The Android 14-based update was previously made available for the Xiaomi 14 series (wherein it comes pre-installed), the Xiaomi 13 and 13T Series, the Xiaomi 12 and 12T Series, as well as the Redmi Note 13 Series and the Redmi Note 12 Pro and Pro+ 5G.

Now though, the company has announced yet another slew of devices to which the update will be making its way, throughout the second quarter of 2024. Read on to find out just which devices these are, and if your smartphone is eligible for the update yet.

Which devices are eligible for the new HyperOS update?

Xiaomi recently confirmed that its new HyperOS skin will be rolled out to the following devices in the coming months – Xiaomi 11 Lite, Xiaomi 11i, Xiaomi 11i HyperCharge, Xiaomi 11T Pro, Mi 11 Ultra, Mi 10, Redmi K50i, Redmi 12, Redmi 11 Prime, Redmi 13C series, Redmi Note 11 series , Xiaomi Pad 5.

Apart from the above smartphones and the Xiaomi Pad 5 though, the HyperOS is slated to make its way to/ has already begun to make its way to the following tablets and wearables.

Tablets

1. Xiaomi Pad 6S Pro (pre-installed)

2. Xiaomi Pad 6

3. Redmi Pad SE

Wearables

1. Xiaomi Watch S3 (pre-installed)

2. Xiaomi Smart Band 8 Pro (pre-installed)

What to look forward to with the HyperOS update

The new HyperOS update brings with it several exciting new features, aimed at enhancing the overall user experience on Xiaomi smartphones.

For starters, HyperOS packs AI-based text generation capabilities, text extraction capabilities for images, as well as image-based searches using natural language queries. There’s also a doodles-to-image converter, and even the ability to convert images to text. The company, with these features, is presumably looking to take on the AI capabilities offered by Samsung with its Android 14-based One UI 6.1 update.

In addition to this, HyperOS brings with it improved inter-device functionalities, akin to the Apple ecosystem. With the update, Xiaomi users will be able to work on tasks across devices, accept and reject calls on their smartphones across them, and even use their Xiaomi products as a universal clipboard.

With the HyperOS update, users can also expect general improvements in system performance, such as in the case of switching between tasks and apps, and message delivery speeds. HyperOS also sees storage space optimisations and uses lesser space than ever before.
