Xiaomi 14 series launched in India with flagship specs and a taste of HyperOS

Xiaomi just announced the new Xiaomi 14 series flagship smartphones in India. The series includes the base Xiaomi 14 and the Xiaomi 14 Ultra. The new phones, Xiaomi’s most powerful yet, also come with the Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 chipset and other changes. Here’s all you need to know about the smartphones.

Xiaomi 14

The Xiaomi 14 is the brand’s compact flagship phone for 2024. The phone comes with a 6.36-inch OLED display with 120Hz refresh rate and HDR10+ support, along with 1000nits peak brightness.

The phone is powered by the Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 chip, and comes with up to 12GB RAM and 256GB UFS 4.0 storage. There is also a 4,160mAh battery which supports 90W wired and 50W wireless charging, along with 10W reverse wireless charging.

The phone also comes with a Leica-branded triple camera setup including a 50MP main camera with OIS, a 50MP ultrawide camera and a third 50MP telephoto sensor with 3x optical zoom. There is also a 32MP front camera for selfies and video calls.

Xiaomi 14 Ultra

Xiaomi also announced the new Xiaomi 14 Ultra smartphones, the highest-end model in the series in India alongside the two other phones. The Xiaomi 14 Ultra is also powered by the Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 chip, but comes with a bunch of other new additions.

This includes a 6.73-inch 2K AMOLED LTPO display with 1000 nits brightness and 120Hz refresh rate. The phone comes with a quad-camera Leica setup on the back, including a 50MP main camera, a 50MP telephoto camera with 3.2x zoom, another 50MP telephoto camera with 5x optical zoom and a 50MP ultrawide camera. There’s also a 3D TOF depth sensor and a 32MP front camera.

All this is powered by a 5,000mAh battery with 90W wired charging support and 80W wireless charging support. There is also support for 10 reverse wireless charging.

Xiaomi 14 series: Pricing and availability

The Xiaomi 14 starts at Rs 69,999 in India, and will be available in black, white and green colours. It will be available from March 11. The Xiaomi 14 Ultra is priced starting at Rs 99,999 and comes in a single 16GB RAM/512GB storage variant, which will come in black and white variants. The phone will be available from noon, April 12 this year.
