The flagship smartphone war is all set to begin, and Xiaomi plans to get the first mover’s advantage. Xiaomi is all set to debut the Xiaomi 13 series in China on December 1. The lineup, which will consist of the Xiaomi 13 and the Xiaomi 13 Pro, will succeed the Xiaomi 12 series from last year. Furthermore, the company is also expected to launch the new Xiaomi Buds 4, Xiaomi Watch S2, as well as give us a glance at its latest operating system – MIUI 14.
Xiaomi 13 expected specifications and features
As per the renders leaked online, the Xiaomi 13 is expected to sport flat edges like the iPhones and many Android phones these days. The Pro version, on the other hand, is expected to be offered with curved edges and slim bezels, to allow for an immersive movie viewing/ gaming experience.
Xiaomi’s latest flagship smartphones are expected to be powered by the recently announced Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 chipset. This will be accompanied by up to 12GB of RAM, and up to 256GB of storage.

The smartphone is also expected to be backed by a 4,700mAh battery along with support for 120W fast charging. The more expensive Xiaomi 13 Pro is expected to pack a slightly larger 4,800mAh battery. Other rumoured features include a 6.2-inch 2K AMOLED display with up to a 120Hz refresh rate, 5G support, and in-display fingerprint scanner for security.
As far as optics go, it’s expected that the Xiaomi 13 will have triple cameras on the back, with a 50MP primary Sony IMX989 shooter with OIS, a secondary ultra-wide lens, and the third being a macro shooter. The device is expected to have a 32MP front camera for selfies and video chats.
The Pro variant is expected to come with a 50MP primary lens, a 50MP ultra-wide lens, as well as a 50MP telephoto zoom lens. The pro model is also expected to sport the same 32MP front camera as the Xiaomi 13.
Both devices are expected to run on Android 13-based MIUI 14 skin straight out-of-the-box.
Where can you purchase the Xiaomi 13 series?
Both the Xiaomi smartphones will debut in China on December 1. There is however no word on an India launch date yet.
