In his attempt to run a bot-free platform, Elon Musk has launched two new global subscription plans for X (formerly Twitter) users. Musk, who recently marked a year taking over the micro-blogging site, has introduced a comparatively inexpensive and slightly more expensive subscription plan that offers users several benefits. These include longer posts, an edit option, and an ad-free experience. Whether you’re a smartphone or a desktop user of the app, here’s all you need to know about it.
X (Twitter) Basic subscription plan: Price and inclusions
Priced at Rs 243 per month (Rs 2,590 a year), this is the cheapest plan available for X users at present.
Users subscribed to this plan can make the most of the app’s edit feature, longer posts, the ability to post longer videos, top articles, background video playback, an undo button and a reply boost option. Apart from these features, you also have the bundle that lets you customise your profile with new icons, themes, navigation and gives you access to the highlights tab.
X (Twitter) Premium+ subscription plan: Prices and inclusions
Up until now, users had access to Twitter Blue or the X Premium plan. However, the Premium+ plan is the platform’s most expensive ad-free plan yet, with a fee of Rs 1,300 monthly (Rs 13,600 a year).

Apart from having access to all the features mentioned above, users of X Premium+ have additional access to the creator suite and can be eligible for ID verification along with the iconic ‘blue tick’.
X Premium plan: What's included so far?
Apart from the new plans, users can still opt for the mid-range X Premium plan (formerly Twitter Blue). This plan more or less gives you everything that the Premium+ now has, barring two features. These include a few ads in the For You and Following section. It remains priced at Rs 650 per month (Rs 6,800 a year).
Musk is reportedly also testing features such as sharing and reposting with a subscription fee in other countries. However, with the current developments in order, it won’t be a surprise to see them being implemented across the globe for all its users.
