WhatsApp status to resemble Instagram stories by adding this feature

WhatsApp has been integrating several new features over the last few months. From switching to Dark mode or sharing screen on video calls, the app is working on multiple developments to the app. This time around it looks like WhatsApp is focusing on Status updates. It seems that it is inching closer to making WhatsApp Status updates resemble Instagram stories with some similar features.

This feature, is the ability to add Meta is offering a compelling way to create, share, and interact with contacts on WhatsApp. Since Instagram stories have already proved these features are appreciated by users, it makes sense for the company to include them on its popular messaging app.

WhatsApp Status to now get music features

According to WABetaInfo, the latest WhatsApp Beta version for Android reveals that the company is working on a share music feature. Since the music library has been popularly accepted by Instagram users, WhatsApp is aiming to bring the same experience to their status updates by adding a new music button in the status update screen.

On tapping on the button, it lets you search for songs or artists. The users can go through the list and select the song or hook they wish to add to their WhatsApp status. WhatsApp may borrow the song library from its sister app.

This feature can help make WhatsApp status a little bit of a personal touch or provide context to the update shared. Upon integrating this feature, it may provide an experience that is closer to other apps like Facebook, Snapchat, and Instagram. However, to use the feature, users will have to update the app on their smartphones.

Notably, these features have been spotted in the WhatsApp beta version. A confirmed release date for the same has not been revealed but it is expected that these features will be rolled out for users soon. Until then subscribe to Unboxed by Croma for tech updates.
