How many times have you scrolled through endless conversations to find that one message that you need on WhatsApp? Far too many times, of course. Even after the Meta-owned company introduced a search-by-keyword feature, it is a challenge to find what you’re looking for, especially if there are multiple instances of the said phrase.
However, Mark Zuckerberg, on his Channel, recently announced a feature that will let users search by date. The feature would allow a user to jump to the date and pull out a chat they’re looking for without any added hassles. Here’s what you need to know about it:
WhatsApp 'Search by Date' feature: What's there to know?
The feature eliminates the trouble of going through a chat or a specific date range to locate a particular conversation thread. According to the instant messaging platform, all users have to do is tap on the chat details of their contact and select search by date. Once you know which date to search for, all you have to do is tap the search button and wait for the results to load.

Apart from this, users can browse through other details within the chats, such as links and media, on their smartphone apps already.
Who can use the WhatsApp' Search by Date' feature?
The feature was made available for iOS devices, along with Mac Desktop and WhatsApp web. But if you’re an Android phone user, you might not have to wait anymore as it is gradually rolling out across devices and the web client.
WhatsApp lately has been experimenting with various features to improve the overall communication experience on the platform. According to WABetainfo.com, the platform is currently working on chat filters, such as “All,” “Unread,” “Contacts” and “Groups”. Apart from this, the company also recently mentioned how it plans to have a ‘Favourites‘ filter within a user’s contacts list on WhatsApp web.
