WhatsApp users have seen multiple upgrades since last year, and it continues to do so in order to improve its user experience. Beginning from Channels to making significant UI changes, there was a lot in store for users and seems to be that there are plenty of other changes in the pipeline.
In one such move, the Meta-owned platform has announced a much-requested Instagram feature for its interface. WhatsApp video updates will soon allow users to upload a minute-long clip to their status. Here’s everything you need to know about them:
WhatsApp video status updates: What's there to know?
WhatsApp users were already able to upload a 30-second clip on their status. However, the platform is currently testing a feature which will allow them to add a minute-long video to their updates. The feature was first discovered by WABetainfo in WhatsApp beta for Android version 2.24.7.6.

The feature will ensure users can upload videos without having to crop or shorten them. Earlier, users uploading more than half a minute long clips would ideally have to split their status update in two.
How to get the new WhatsApp video update on your smartphone app
WhatsApp is currently testing the feature and is only available to a small subset of Android smartphone users. However, the feature might soon be made available for everyone using the app, no matter the device. That said, the company might also consider feedback before implementing this change across for all its users.
While a minute-long clip sounds like a great way to share and stay in touch, it also might reduce visibility as users may eventually skip longer updates. However, how the feature is received, only time will tell.
