WhatsApp is finally letting you pin multiple messages

Although still in beta, the feature will soon be out for everyone

WhatsApp is finally letting you pin multiple messages

WhatsApp has largely left no stone unturned when it comes to establishing itself as the all-round communication tool for smartphones. Beyond encrypted chats, features like secure calling, UPI payments and large file sharing have contributed to making the app a great tool for general communication.

However, one small pebble left in the pond, was the ability to pin multiple messages. While WhatsApp did allow you to pin one single message per chat or group for any important information, files or media, the need to pin multiple such messages has bothered users for far too long. Thankfully, WhatsApp is now addressing this with support for pinning multiple messages.

WhatsApp to now allow pinning up to three messages

As per a new report by WABetaInfo, a trusted source when it comes to peeking at WhatsApp features yet to be released, the app is working on the ability to pin multiple messages in a chat. This should reportedly work for both personal and group chats.

The feature will be ideal in groups where anything from work to vacation planning is discussed. Users will now be able to pin multiple important messages, ready to be accessed at any point in the future in merely seconds. However, there is still a limit, and one can only pin up to three messages in a single chat for now.

Who gets the feature?

The ability to pin multiple messages inside WhatsApp is currently only available for beta testers with Android phones who are also on the WhatsApp beta for Android programme, specifically version 2.23.26.9. If you do use WhatsApp beta, updating to this version should get you the feature.

WhatsApp’s beta counterpart for iOS is yet to receive the feature, but we presume it should be implemented any day now. That said, most of WhatsApp’s userbase who run the stable channel of the app, must wait a little longer for the ability.

Once the feature has made itself available in a few beta versions and any possible bugs with it are ironed out, stable users should receive a new WhatsApp update on the Play Store or App Store with the feature made available!
