8K TVs are the latest display tech in home entertainment, promising viewers an unmatched visual experience. But how are they different from 4K TVs? Let’s understand what 8K TVs are and how they work.
An 8K TV has a display resolution of 7680 × 4320 pixels, which is significantly more than that of 4K TVs. With four times the pixels compared to a regular 4K TV (and 16 times more pixels than the standard 1080p HD display) images on an 8K TV appear super sharp.

With more pixel density in 8K TVs, everything from movies to shows, and even games, become sharper and more enjoyable. The human eye cannot distinguish between the 8K TV and actual reality, which makes the technology very impressive, especially for those who love the ultimate in image sharpness.
However, to enjoy content in 8K, an 8K TV is not enough, you also need a streaming device that will output content in 8K to make the most of all those pixels. Thankfully, most 8K TVs are smart enough to upscale 4K content to 8K, which can give more or less a similar experience until native 8K streaming becomes more mainstream.
