Vivo X100 Ultra, X100s and X100s Pro announced with upgraded chipsets, cameras

Towards the end of last year, Vivo unveiled the X100 and X100 Pro smartphones, armed with MediaTek Dimensity 9300 chipsets, Zeiss camera sensors, and more. In a bid to keep the lineup fresh and competing against the likes of the OnePlus 12 and Samsung Galaxy S24 Ultra, the company has added three new phones.

Called the Vivo X100 Ultra, X100s, and X100s Pro, these three new phones have been launched in China. Here’s everything you need to know.

Vivo X100 Ultra key features, specifications

The Vivo X100 Ultra is powered by the Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 chipset, and is available with up to 16GB of RAM, and up to 1TB of storage. Backing up the phone is a 5,500mAh battery with 80W wired fast charging support and 30W wireless charging support.

There’s also a 6.78-inch AMOLED display with a 2K resolution and Dolby Vision support, and the device as per Vivo, boasts IP68 and an IP69 certification for water and dust resistance. The new smartphone runs Android 14-based OriginOS 4 straight out-of-the-box.

Now, coming to the party piece on the device, the cameras. The Vivo X100 Ultra gets a Zeiss branded triple camera setup at the rear. This includes a 50MP Sony LYT-900 sensor, with support for OIS, a 50MP ultra-wide-angle sensor, and a 200MP super telephoto sensor.

For selfies and video calls, the Vivo X100 Ultra gets a 50MP sensor on the front too, arranged in a punch-hole cutout in the centre. What’s cool is, it can also zoom between 1x and 2x.

The Vivo X100s and X100s Pro are both powered by a MediaTek Dimensity 9300+ chipset, and are available with up to 16GB of RAM, and up to 1TB storage. Now, while the Vivo X100s packs a 5,100mAh battery with 100W wired charging support, the Vivo X100s Pro gets a 5,400mAh unit with 100W wired and 50W wireless charging support – both faster than the top-of-the-line Vivo X100 Ultra.

Both devices get 6.78-inch AMOLED displays with a 2800 x 1260 pixels resolution, 120Hz refresh rate, and a peak brightness of 3,000 nits. Both devices also run Android 14-based OriginOS 4.

Coming to optics, the Vivo X100s gets a 50MP primary sensor, a 64MP telephoto sensor, and another 50MP ultra-wide-angle sensor. The X100s Pro, on the other hand, gets similar main and ultra-wide-angle sensors but gets a 50MP Zeiss telephoto sensor.

On the front, both devices get a 32MP camera for selfies and video calls.

Vivo X100 Ultra, X100s, X100s Pro pricing and availability

The Vivo X100 Ultra is available in Titanium, White and Grey colourways. Its prices start from CNY 6,499 (approximately Rs 75,150) and go up to CNY 7,999 (approximately Rs 92,500).

The Vivo X100s is available in Titanium, White, Grey and Green colourways. Its prices start from CNY 3,999 (approximately Rs 46,240) and go up to CNY 5,199 (approximately Rs 60,100).

Lastly, the Vivo X100s Pro is available in White, Black and Titanium colourways. Prices start from CNY 4,999 (approximately Rs 57,800) and go up to CNY 6,199 (approximately Rs 71,700).

All three new Vivo smartphones have gone on sale in China. Launch details for India are currently under wraps.
