Whether you’re rushing for a last-minute fix for the office Secret Santa or are online looking for something thoughtful for your friends, this is perhaps the only time in the year your inbox is drowning with e-commerce emails. And, if scouring multiple online orders intimidates you, too, you’re not the only one. To calm those nerves and ease the anxiety, Google has rolled out a bunch of features right in time for the festivities.
Looking forward to having a seamless shopping experience? Here’s what you need to know about the new features.
3 new Gmail features that will enhance your online shopping experience
Beginning from tracking your orders to rummaging for return policies, the struggle of looking for an email is plenty. Here are some features that are designed to help you organise your virtual shopping list better.
1. Delivery filter
2. Package tracking
3. Return policy access
1. Delivery filter
Keeping urgency in mind, Gmail has rolled out a ‘Get it by Dec 24’ filter for you to know if your gifts will arrive in time. All you have to do is open the Gmail app on your smartphone or your laptop and select a filter to determine which of the items are eligible for fast delivery. Apart from these, the filter also helps in knowing if your gift can be delivered on priority.
2. Package tracking
Gmail has also introduced a more comprehensive order-tracking experience. This will display crucial emails in the shopping tab and will be visible in the inbox list view along with individual emails. For the season, Gmail will prioritise package-tracking emails, allowing users to access them quickly and allow them to change any information if required. However, users can still enable or disable this feature within their Gmail settings.

3. Return policy access
The last new feature on Gmail allows users easy access to merchant return policies. Once your package has been delivered, Gmail will send a link with the merchant’s return guidelines. Additionally, users will also be able to see highlighted return policies on search, with the term ’90-day returns’ on product lists during their virtual shopping process.
These features, which have been introduced to streamline user experience, will be available for a limited time on Gmail. So, if this doesn’t help you stop procrastinating, we don’t know what will.
