Glittering trees, holiday music, delicious treats, and Secret Santa gifts are some of my favourite things about Christmas. But nothing beats my favourite thing about Christmas – Google Santa Tracker.
While the quirky doodles on the Google homepage on momentous occasions and days are no longer surprising, Christmas gets its own website with lots of games and fun.
What is Google Santa Tracker?
It is precisely what you assume it is – a website to track the whereabouts of Santa Claus on Christmas Eve. It begins simulating tracking of Santa on December 24, and lets you follow Santa and his reindeers as they deliver presents to kids worldwide.

Once you visit the website on your laptop or mobile and click the “Play” button, you are shown an animated short video of how Santa Claus, Mrs. Claus, elves, and other North Pole residents are gearing up for Christmas.
But that’s not all – the website contains multiple fun, educational, and interactive activities for users of all ages. From coding lessons to Google Assistant tips and tricks, this website is a goldmine for all Christmas lovers like me.
My favourite activities on Google Santa Tracker
I only really understood what spoilt for choice meant once I saw the activities spread on this year’s Christmas website. If you are a fan of keyboard jump games, you’ll enjoy Penguin Dash and Wrap Battle. My favourite is Elf Glider, which reminds me of one of my most played games – Flappy Bird. There’s also Jetpack Joyride-inspired Reindeer Runner, which misses the mark.
As someone who thrives on puzzles, the Search for Santa activity had me on my toes. The aim is very simple – locate multiple characters across four locations – museum, lab, mountain, and beach. Not only can you zoom in and out, but you can also get various hints if you need help locating a character. I also enjoyed the Map Quiz and the Holiday Traditions Quiz.
While I only spent a little bit of time on the create something activities, Elf Maker and Santa Selfie were the perfect breaks I needed between meetings. The interactive storybook and the animated short videos are next on my to-explore list.
I also love how the Christmas magic is not limited to this website. We can use Google Assistant on our smartphones throughout December to learn more about Santa Claus. Ask Google Assistant “What’s new at the North Pole” for a daily newscast or “Santa joke” for some Christmas-themed humour.
So, here’s to tracking Santa’s sleigh and playing games that keep us entertained (and low-key addicted). Oh, and Google, you have officially made it to the nice list of my Christmas-loving, game-enjoying heart.
