Tecno Phantom V Fold 2, V Flip 2 affordable foldable phones launched in India

Tecno has launched two new foldable smartphones in India dubbed the Tecno Phantom V Fold 2 and Phantom V Flip 2. Both foldable phones are comparatively cheaper than the competition, yet offer solid specifications and a fresh new design.

Some of the highlights of the phones include dual displays, a MediaTek Dimensity processor, and big batteries with 70W fast charging support. Let’s see the specifications, features, and price of the phones.

Tecno Phantom V Fold 2 specifications, price, availability

The Phantom V Fold 2 succeeds the original Phantom V Fold smartphone and brings a revamped design. It has a 7.85-inch primary display, which is an LTPO AMOLED panel that produces up to 120Hz refresh rate and a 2K resolution. The external or the secondary screen is a 6.42-inch LTPO AMOLED screen with the same refresh rate and FHD+ resolution. It also has a Gorilla Glass Victus 2 protection.

Powering the device is a MediaTek Dimensity 9000+ processor with Mali-G710- MC10 GPU. It has 12GB of RAM and 512GB of internal storage. The smartphone packs a large 5,750mAh battery with 70W wired and 15W wireless fast charging support.

In terms of cameras, there’s a triple-rear camera system with a 50MP Omnivision OV50H main lens, a 50MP 2x telephoto lens, and a 50MP ultrawide lens. The main lens has OIS support for a stable footage. It has 32MP selfie camera on the primary display as well as on the secondary screen.

The foldable phone runs on Android 14 OS with HiOS on top. However, Tecno has promised two more updates, i.e., till Android 16. The device will get three years of security patch. The Phantom V Fold 2 is priced at Rs 79,999, which is a special launch price including offers. The foldable phone will be available for purchase from December 13.

The Phantom V Flip 2 has also received major upgrades. It now boasts a larger external screen, which is a 3.64-inch AMOLED panel. Interestingly, the external screen comes with support for custom mini games and over 2,000+ apps. As for the primary screen, it’s a 6.9-inch LTPO AMOLED panel with an FHD+ resolution and up to 120Hz refresh rate.

Under the hood, the device has a MediaTek Dimensity 8020 processor with Mali-G77 MC9 GPU. It has 8GB of RAM and 256GB of internal storage. The smartphone houses a 4,720mAh battery, which is comparatively big for a claimshell foldable phone. It has up to 70W wired fast charging support.

There’s a dual-rear camera system on the rear with a 50MP main les and 50MP ultra-wide lens. There’s a 32MP camera on the front for clicking selfies. Tecno has offered many modes to enhance the camera experience of users, like a dedicated low-light mode, among others.

The clamshell foldable phone boots on Android 14-based HiOS. The update timeline for the device is unknown as of yet. As for the pricing, the Phantom V Flip 2 comes at a competitive price of Rs 34,999 with offers. The sale begins on December 13.
