The TCL Projector A1 makes your cinema experience truly portable

Projectors are a dime a dozen these days, and while some of them offer cool features there are almost always compromises – ranging from low brightness levels, low-resolution outputs to simply bad focussing on the projectors. But then comes along TCL, a brand you’d recognise from its range of affordable to flagship TVs and displays, which has launched a projector that actually makes sense.

Meet the TCL Projector A1, the perks of which begin from a simple name, and go all the way to a dynamic size-shifting screen, auto-focussing, a portable form factor, and a price tag that will not have you questioning your decisions later on (well, we hope).

TCL Projector A1: What’s new?

The new TCL Projector comes in a small compact form, complete with a handle on top, which makes it easy to lug around – something you will be doing a lot. Why? Because the Projector A1 can cast your movies pretty much anywhere, from a screen to a white wall.

The best part is the dynamic sizing. If you’re in a smaller room, with a smaller group, you can cast a 45-inch projection with the projector. If more people join in, changing the setup is as easy as moving the projector to the living room, and now you can enjoy a larger projection, all the way up to 120-inches.

Why pick this over a TV?

If you’re new to projectors, you may wonder why you’d pick this over a TV. Well, the TCL Projector A1 has quite a few reasons. The small form factor makes it easy to move around, allowing it to be placed wherever required, between rooms, or entire apartments.

The TCL Projector A1 also comes with both wired and wireless connectivity modes, which also allow it to be used outdoors – perfect for those who have a backyard or a similar space where they can quickly setup the projector.

Other features like Screen Adaptation also allow the A1 to adapt to any angle and show you a straight projection, no matter how skewed its placement angle is.

Apart from this, the TCL Projector A1 also features 8W built in speakers, also allowing the gadget to double up as a Bluetooth Speaker when you need it to be. There’s Google TV onboard, letting you install any app on the projector just like you would on any Android TV.

Coming to the picture quality, the TCL Projector A1 comes with Full HD 1080p resolution, 360 Lumens brightness and features like auto-focussing and keystone correction, which makes setting up the projector in a new location super easy and convenient.

The TCL Projector A1 is priced at $499 (about Rs 42,000) and while it is available globally right now, an India launch is yet to take place. We do hope the TCL Projector A1 comes here and makes movies fun for everyone again in this Netflix era.
