There seems to be no end in sight, to the argument of whether games are best played on a PC, or on a console. If you happen to be one of the former though, you’d know that even many PC games are better to play with a controller.
Speaking of playing with controllers, an annoyance gamers faced for years, was the fact that gaming platforms such as Steam, never supported PlayStation controllers – arguably the most famous gaming rigs there’ve ever been. Until today that is.
Steam now supports PS4 and PS5 controllers
Steam Library, for the longest time, supported only Xbox controllers. This meant that if one switched to gaming on their PCs, they had to invest in a separate Xbox controller, even if they happen to have previously or currently own a PlayStation 4 or PlayStation 5. Now, however, with the latest update, Steam Library does support DualShock 4 and DualSense controllers meant for PS4s and PS5s respectively.
What’s more, while running searches for games, one can also filter games compatible with a particular kind of controller, making it much easier to find games compatible with both – PlayStation consoles as well as PCs.
Steam also now lists the controllers a game is compatible with, on its store page, and also mentions whether it has full or partial support for the same. The same is also available for games in the “Your Library” section. This helps ensure users don’t end up buying games that don’t support their controllers, or the other way around.

Now, whether games are played best using your keyboard or controller is for you to decide. However, with this update, PC and console gamers can now certainly experience the best of both worlds.
