Spotify Wrapped 2023 is out; here’s how to find your top songs

If you’re not a Spotify user, you probably might want to avoid your social media apps today! Yes, that’s right, after days of teasing, the music streaming app has finally dropped its much-anticipated year-end roundup: Spotify Wrapped 2023.

And unless you were sitting hooked on your smartphone and relentlessly refreshing the app, there’s a good chance you may have missed out on the announcement. But here’s how you can catch up on your year-end trends, statistics and listening patterns.

Spotify Wrapped 2023: What's new this year?

Like every year, Spotify gives you an insight into your ‘year in music’. However, apart from giving you a list of your top-played songs, Spotify Wrapped also comes with several other shareable snippets. These include the total minutes spent, the number of times you replayed a song and your contribution to the top artist of the year.

In a blog post, the music streaming app even goes on to mention how it has provided a personalised user experience to more than 574 million users around the world. Here are a few new features it has thrown in this year:

Me in 2023: Spotify now has a card that reveals your streaming habit, which defined your music listening in 2023. Once you flip this card, it shows you one of 12 characteristic traits specific to your personality.

Sound Town: A quirky tidbit that matches you to a city with similar listening habits. This could be based on the genre or artist affinity you displayed throughout the year.

Artist messages: You can make the most of an audio message from one of your top artists on Spotify. You also have access to go through messages by other artists, including Taylor Swift, SZA, Dolly Parton and Jung Kook, among others, on the Wrapped feed page.

Before you do, ensure your Spotify app is updated to the latest version. Once you open the app, you will find the Wrapped icon highlighted in the top right corner. On tapping, you will be led to the page, similar to that of the Spotify homepage, with your 2023 trends.

Here, you can either tap on individual playlists curated according to the trends or choose to tap on the Wrapped tile in the centre. By doing this, your Wrapped statistics will show up in a ‘story’ format. If you want to show off those numbers, Spotify ends the wrap with sharable social media cards for your Instagram stories.

Here’s hoping your year in music is something worth sharing (and waiting for)!
