Remember Sony’s iconic Walkman music players? You’d be mistaken to think that the classic poster-boy for music players for generations is history today. However, Sony’s Walkman lineup still exists today, with an ultra-focussed musical experience clubbed with the benefits and ease-of-use of modern operating systems like Google’s Android.
The brand’s newest Walkman product, the Sony Walkman NW-A306 brings together Hi-Res audio support with a lightweight, compact and feature-packed design. Here’s all you need to know about the player:
Sony Walkman NW-A306 comes with a compact form factor and a 3.6-inch touchscreen. The player has physical tactile music controls along the right edge of the player. The body is made out of a premium aluminium milled frame that allows for enhanced rigidity for low impedance and clearer, stable sound.

Coming to the audio experience, the Walkman NW-A306 is targeted at audiophiles, and justifies that with a new S-Master HX digital amp technology. The Walkman is capable of reducing distortion and noise across a wide range of frequencies for a richer, fuller sound output.
The NW-A306 also comes with an AI-powered Digital Sound Enhancement Engine which can upscale compressed digital music files in real-time, drastically improving the sound quality experience. The NW-A306 a also comes with improved battery life, with the player offering up to 36 hours of FLAC playback or 32 hours of FLAC high-resolution playback. Users also get USB Type-C charging and microSD card support.
Since the Walkman is powered by Android, users can also use any streaming service of their choice for more music. The Walkman NW-A306 is priced at Rs 25,990 and is available to purchase from February 9.
