Sony’s Bravia series of high-end TVs don’t need an introduction. The brand has been making some of the best televisions around the world for years now, along with displays for other gadgets like smartphones. The brand’s latest flagship TVs in India are no different.
With one of the brightest display panels around, IMAX Enhanced certification and more, the new Bravia 9 series TVs have a lot in store for those looking for a new TV. If you have a console like the Sony PlayStation 5 or PlayStation 5 Slim, it only gets better. Here’s everything you need to know about the television.
Sony Bravia 9: What’s new?
The Sony Bravia 9 comes in two variants – 75-inch (K-75XR90) and 85-inch (K-85XR90). Both sizes offer 4K resolution with what Sony calls its brightest panels ever. These are also mini-LED TVs, which means you get the closest possible contrast ratio to OLED panels, without the associated cost.

The processing under the hood is done by Sony’s XR Triluminos Pro engine, which can reproduce “over a billion” colours for accurate and pleasing visuals no matter what the content. There are also some cool features like XR Motion Clarity that analyses movement across multiple frames and syncs the TV’s backlight accordingly for optimal lighting in each section of the mini-LED panel.
Cinema-like sound
The Sony Bravia 9 also comes with the world’s first beam tweeters – tweeters embedded in the frame of the display, pointed at you. This lets the TV direct sound towards viewers naturally, providing a more directional surround sound experience without a dedicated home-theatre system, just like in a movie theatre.
The Sony Bravia 9 is also one of the few TVs to come with an IMAX Enhanced certification, which allows for IMAX-level colours and contrasts, letting supported movies look just as good as they would in the theatre.
Built for the Sony PlayStation 5
Paired with a Sony PS5 or PS5 Slim, the Sony Bravia is more than just a large screen. With support for 4K/120fps VRR (variable refresh rate), any game your console can run looks its best. Other features like HDR tone mapping and Dolby Vision for gaming.
The Sony Bravia 9 is priced at Rs 4,49,990 for the 75-inch variant and Rs 5,99,990 for the 85-inch variant. Both TVs will be available starting today.
