Photographers the world over have begun to move to mirrorless cameras from traditional DSLRs. This is owing to the former’s compact form factor and the fact that they allow one to preview images and adjust their settings before they hit the shutter button, in real-time. If you’re looking for a new mirrorless camera, here’s why you should check out the Sony Alpha 6700.
Sony Alpha 6700 features and specifications
The new Sony Alpha 6700 features an APS-C back-illuminated Exmor R CMOS sensor. It is powered by Sony’s BIONZ XR processing engine, which ensures there is no loss of resolution in images despite the camera’s compact form factor. What’s cool is that it also features AI-based recognition systems, which can, in real-time, identify subjects including humans, animals, birds, as well as vehicles.
Under the hood of the camera is a rechargeable battery with a life of 550-570 still images.
Image resolution stands at 26MP for still images and 19.9MP for videos. ISO sensitivity on the camera is between 100 and 32,000 for still images and is expandable to 50 and 102,400 as well. For video, it stands at between 100 and 32,000, allowing for images with minimal noise. It also features support for 4K video recording at up to 120fps. Other features on the camera include a wide dynamic range of over 14 stops, optical 5-axis image stabilisation and more.
The Sony Alpha 6700 has a compact form factor, weighing in at 493g, and features a 7.5cm vari-angle TFT display to view images, as well as a 1cm XGA OLED electronic viewfinder. Moreover, it also features customisable dials, further adding to its utility.
