We recently saw the OnePlus 13 launch overseas, which officially takes the newest flagship crown away from the OnePlus 12 and OnePlus 12R. However, as these capable phones get older, there is one OnePlus phone that can still offer some solid value-for-money, and that is the OnePlus 11R.
Launched in 2023, the OnePlus 11R has already aged about a year and a half, but with several price cuts, still offers something that is worth considering. Let’s quickly look at the phone and if it’s still a good buy this year.
OnePlus 11R design
The OnePlus 11 features a round camera island on the back panel, a design that OnePlus is still loyal to, almost two years later. Along with the punch-hole cutout on the front, it’s safe to say that the OnePlus 11R doesn’t look like a dated device by any stretch.

The phone also comes in some interesting colours. While cool Galactic Silver and the minimal Sonic Black will cut it for most people, a Solar Red variant also offers a unique look for those willing to pay a little extra.
OnePlus 11R performance and cameras
The OnePlus 11R is powered by the Snapdragon 8+ Gen 1, which may be old, but is still a flagship-grade chipset. This means not only is the OnePlus 11R more than enough for all day-to-day tasks today, but it can even run heavier apps and should comfortably run most games (even the bigger ones) unless you’re on the most extreme graphics settings.
For a phone in its segment, the OnePlus 11R still offers a rather versatile camera setup with a 50MP main camera with optical image stabilisation, an 8MP ultrawide camera and a 2MP macro camera, along with a 16MP front camera.
OnePlus 11R battery life, charging and software updates
The OnePlus 11R is backed by a 5,000mAh battery, which can still be considered a good capacity to have on your phone in 2024. This is coupled with 100W wired fast charging which also ensures quick top ups when you’re running low on battery and makes the 11R still one of the fastest charging phones you can get your hands on.
The OnePlus 11R launched with Android 13 out of the box and should get updates till Android 16 (as OxygenOS 16), followed by an additional year of security patches. So, the phone should get most of the latest features and security patches for this year and the next.
Unboxed Take: Should you buy the OnePlus 11R in 2024?
While the OnePlus 11R has been replaced by the OnePlus 12R in almost every aspect since its launch, the OnePlus 12R does cost more. Considering the starting price of the OnePlus 11R today is below Rs 30,000, you still get quite the bang for your buck with the phone. So, if you’re considering buying a new phone under Rs 30,000, you should definitely consider the OnePlus 11R.
