When it comes to the latest OS updates, Samsung has been ahead of the curve, as it has been giving the newest updates on time every year. This year, however, things have changed.
We’ve already seen the delayed arrival of Android 15 on most phones, including the Pixels, and now, Samsung is joining the bandwagon by delaying the release of its upcoming One UI 7 update.
If you are a Samsung user, here’s when your smartphone will receive the Android 15-based One UI 7 update.
When will my Samsung phone get One UI 7?
Samsung, at the SDC (Samsung Developer Conference) 2024, shed some light on the launch of the upcoming One UI 7 for Samsung smartphones. The South Korean giant’s mobile division said that the release of One UI 7 has been delayed and it will launch by the end of this year.
Unfortunately, Samsung hasn’t given us a release date for its upcoming UI; however, expect it to be coming to most Samsung phones starting in 2025. Since One UI 7 will arrive next year, your Galaxy smartphone will also get the taste of Android 15 only in 2025.
This is nothing but bad news, as Samsung being Samsung, was expected to bring the first beta of Android 15-based One UI 7 in August. Of course, that didn’t happen. But when it does, expect the Galaxy S24 lineup to get the update first, followed by other S and A series devices.

This year, Android 15’s launch has been very usual, as even the Google Pixel 9 series didn’t launch with the latest software out of the box. The series is expected to receive the update later this month.
So far, only Vivo and iQOO have rolled out Android 15’s beta release for their Vivo X100, Vivo X Fold 3, and iQOO 12 5G flagship phones in India. Oppo has also announced Android 15 beta 1 for its Oppo Find N3 in China.
Apart from these, other brands are yet to follow suit, and we expect that to happen soon. Until then, stay tuned on Unboxed by Croma to keep track of Android 15’s release on your device.
