Among other announcements at its annual developer conference, Samsung also unveiled the second generation of its Gen AI model, ‘Gauss 2’. The company highlighted improved performance along with various other capabilities that the model is expected to bring for Samsung’s Galaxy AI.
Samsung Gauss 2 Gen AI model: What's there to know?
Samsung unveiled the Gauss 2 as the platform’s latest iteration of its multimodal generative AI model. This essentially means the model can simultaneously take several data types as its input, be it code, images or even voice.
At the Samsung Developer Conference, the company also mentioned how it plans to incorporate Gauss 2 across various products. These include smartphones, laptops, tablets as well as home appliances. Samsung has additionally developed ‘Knowledge Graph’ technology, which along with AI, can offer users personalised features.

Once integrated with Galaxy AI, users will be able to work faster across functions such as Browsing Assist, Call Assist, Generative AI Edit, Interpreter Note Assist as well as Sketch to Image Assist. Gauss 2 is also said to improve efficiency and will be available in three forms: Compact, Balanced and Supreme.
For now, Samsung mentions how it will support anywhere between 9-14 languages, which includes coding. It also claims that Gauss 2 boasts 1.5x to 3x faster processing than the first generation of Gauss, meaning users will have to deal with a shorter wait time.
When will Gauss 2 roll out for Samsung users?
Samsung mentions how its developers and employees are already privy to Gauss 2, with over 60 per cent using it already. Apart from this, there isn’t any other information as to when the model will roll out to a larger audience.
