Samsung One UI 7 beta with redesigned UI, AI features now rolling out

After a long wait, Samsung is finally rolling out the One UI 7 beta update on supported Galaxy smartphones. The update is based on Android 15, and it offers a slew of changes and updates, including redesigned UI, AI features, and some security enhancements.

Here’s everything you need to know about One UI 7, from its features, release timeline to compatible devices.

What’s special with One UI 7?

Resigned UI

Samsung’s One UI 7 beta update brings a redesigned UI, with the lock screen getting ‘Now Bar’, which offers quick access to several tools. This includes timer, music controls, voice recorder, and activity data. The Now Bar widget is located at bottom of the screen, placed in between quick actions.

The home screen hasn’t received a major redesign, but the UI looks more streamlined. The app icons and widgets look more minimal and customisable, pushing users to get more creative while customising their One UI 7 home screens.

Samsung has also updated the design of the camera app, which makes accessing useful camera controls and modes easier. The most notable change is in the Pro and Pro video shooting modes. The layout for these modes has been simplified so it’s easier to focus on your subject. There’s also a new zoom control in the Pro modes.

New AI features

Samsung has added new AI features in One UI 7. This includes new writing tools in Chat Assist that use AI to summarise, spell and grammar check, and organize a chunk of content into bullet points. Besides this, there’s another AI feature that lets users automatically generate transcripts of calls in 20different languages.

Enhanced security features

The One UI 7 update also brings some enhanced security features like Knox Matrix dashboard. The feature introduces an easier way to maintain transparent security across your Samsung devices, including Samsung mobile phones, TVs, and home appliances.

When all your Samsung devices are secure, it will show the status as green. If there’s any device at risk, the feature will also provide actionable recommendations to mitigate the threat.

Samsung has also added a new recovery method that can easily retrieve all your data stored on Samsung Cloud. Further, as part of Knox Matrix’s Credential Sync, Samsung users can conveniently log in to their Samsung account with passkeys.
