Samsung Health app upgraded with improved food and medication tracking

Those who are a part of the Galaxy ecosystem will soon be able to benefit from three new Samsung Health app updates. The new features are said to enhance the overall user experience and provide improved meal and medication logging. Here’s everything new coming to the smartphone app:

3 new features coming to the Samsung Health app

The Samsung Health app (formerly known as S-Health) is a fitness-tracking app that allows you to keep tabs on your day-to-day activities. Recently, the company rolled out its version 6.28 update which comes with three crucial new updates.

1. Health Records

With Health Records, users will now be able to fetch their crucial medical records from clinics, hospitals and diagnostics centres. For those residing in the US, Samsung has even partnered with b.well Connected Health, a platform that consolidates the largest electronic medical records (EMR). Apart from these, it has also collaborated with Athenahealth, Cerner Health, Epic Systems, and Veradigm for other important health-related insights.

2. Medications tracking

As the name suggests, Medications Tracking allows users to manage their medications within the app. The feature, which was already available to residents of the United States, will now be expanded to India. Samsung has partnered with Tata 1mg in India to ensure refill reminders and provide a shortcut for those wanting to refill their medication. If that’s not all, users can also schedule their medications and get helpful tips regarding their intake.

3. Food intake log

Lastly, Samsung has added a barcode scanner to its Food tracker feature on the app. This upgrade helps a user log their food intake with ease, and adds everything beginning from its name, to calorie intake and other important nutritional facts. However, while Samsung has only rolled this feature out for select European countries and the US, it has plans to expand it globally in the future.

The app’s newest version is now available on the Galaxy Store along with the above-mentioned updates. For more updates and tech tips, don’t forget to subscribe to Unboxed by Croma.
