Samsung Galaxy Z Flip FE may be an affordable flip phone powered by Exynos 2400 chipset

One of the most hyped launches in the smartphone space every year happens to be around July, which is (usually) when Samsung unveils the latest iterations of its Galaxy Z Flip and Galaxy Z Fold smartphones. Capable as the smartphones are though, one does have to shell out a bit of a premium for them.

That may be all set to change however, at least in the case of the Galaxy Z Flip, as the South Korean company is rumoured to be launching an affordable “Fan Edition” variant of the phone in 2025.

What is the Samsung Galaxy Z Flip FE?

A post on X (formerly Twitter) by tipster @Jukanlosreve suggests that Samsung will launch an affordable variant of its Galaxy Z Flip smartphone, purportedly called the Samsung Galaxy Z Flip FE, next year. And even though the company is expected to cut down on several features to keep costs low, it could be powered by the Exynos 2400 processor.

For the unaware, the Exynos 2400 chipset has been developed inhouse by Samsung, and currently powers the Samsung Galaxy S24 and the Galaxy S24 Plus in select regions including India.

Now, the processor will have been around for the better part of a year-and-a-half by the time the device comes out. However, it is important to note here that rumours also suggest Samsung’s next flagship S-series candy bar smartphones, and the next iteration of the Samsung Galaxy Z Flip and Fold smartphones could get a new Exynos 2500 SoC under the hood. Which will make them more expensive.

And not to mention, that the Exynos 2400 still remains a fairly capable chipset. This should help the Samsung Galaxy Z Flip FE offer good performance without burning a hole in your pockets. That said, one could still expect to see lower storage space and RAM, as well as a simple camera setup and potentially, a smaller screen on the device to keep it affordable as well.

When is the Samsung Galaxy Z Flip FE launching?

At the time of filing this story, there has been no official confirmation from Samsung on a launch timeline. Until then, take all the Samsung Galaxy Z Flip FE rumours with the proverbial pinch of salt.
