Samsung is set to kick off its first event of the new year later tonight with Galaxy Unpacked 2024. The brand is expected to announce a bunch of new products at the launch, but the highlight of the series will likely be the Samsung Galaxy S24 series smartphones.

Succeeding the Galaxy S23 series from 2023, the new devices are expected to feature a similar design, but with more powerful hardware and a host of new AI features under Samsung’s new ‘Galaxy AI’ initiative.

The Samsung Galaxy Unpacked 2024 event will begin streaming at 11:30PM IST in India on the night of January 17. It is expected to go on through midnight, so fans waiting to watch the whole event may want to keep some snacks handy!

Samsung Galaxy Unpacked 2024: What to expect?

As per multiple leaks and rumours in the past few months, Samsung is expected to launch three new Galaxy S24-series smartphones – the base Galaxy S24, a larger Galaxy S24+ and a Galaxy S24 Ultra, all of which could feature the brand’s signature minimal design, but with some new colours.

The phones are also expected to be powered by the new Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 chipsets, which, apart from a performance boost, bring loads of new AI possibilities to the phones, thanks to on-device AI.

Other improvements in aspects like the camera are also expected, although we currently don’t know a lot about what to expect in this regard. Thankfully, the wait is now as short as a few more hours!
