It’s been a while since Samsung started rolling out the Android 14-based One UI 6 update to its devices globally, as an over-the-air (OTA) update. Now, while Samsung has been rolling out the update to its more premium smartphones in their line-up, including the Galaxy S series, as well as the Fold and Flip series devices, it is equally quick with the same for more budget-oriented M and F series phones too. The company has just rolled out the One UI 6 update for the Galaxy F54 and Galaxy M53 smartphones starting today.
How to update your Samsung Galaxy F54 and M53 to One UI 6
To check whether your Samsung Galaxy F54 or M53 has received the One UI 6 update, head to the settings apps on your device, and scroll down. Look for an option that says, “Software update.” Tap on it. On the subsequent screen, hit the “Download and install” button. Should your devices have received the update, it should pop up on the screen. Now, tap on it, and follow the on-screen prompts to install the update.
Before you start updating your devices though, it’s a good idea to ensure your phone is connected to your charger. Secondly, the update for both, the Galaxy F54 and Galaxy M53 is fairly large, at 2.37 and 2.39GB respectively. Therefore, also ensure that your internet connection is strong enough to be able to handle the same.
One UI 6 features list
One UI 6 brings with it a slew of new features. These include a customisable lock screen clock, cleaner notifications in individual cards which can be sorted based on time, a redesigned quick settings panel, and more.
There is also a new weather insights widget which provides more in-depth information about your local weather conditions, as well as a new camera widget that serves as a shortcut for user preset camera modes. In addition to this is an updated set of emojis for the Samsung keyboard and many new tools on the in-built photo editor as well.

What’s cool is that with most of its recent smartphones, Samsung has promised up to four years of OS updates and five years of security patch updates. Users of the Galaxy F54 and M53 smartphones, as well as devices even from the A-series range, can be rest assured that this won’t be the last major software update their devices will receive.
