Samsung Galaxy A25 5G, A15 5G puts the A-series back in the game for 2024

Samsung’s A-series has offered some of the best mid-range devices for users seeking the OneUI goodness. For anyone who doesn’t want to spend more and get on of the brand’s S-series smartphones, the A-series has offered a good balance of hardware and software at a bargain price, especially since Samsung started offering more security updates than rivals.

Now, the brand’s latest in the series are set to do the same for new buyers in 2024. Here’s all you need to know about the new Samsung Galaxy A25 5G and the Galaxy A15 5G.

Samsung Galaxy A25 5G features, specs

The Galaxy A25 5G comes with a 6.5-inch FHD+ AMOLED display with 120Hz refresh rate and 1,000 nits peak brightness, along with a waterdrop notch. The phone is powered by Samsung’s own Exynos 1280 chipset and is paired with 8GB RAM and 256GB storage.

There is a triple camera layout on the back of the phone, comprising of a 50MP main camera with Optical Image Stabilisation (OIS), an 8MP ultrawide camera and a 2MP macro sensor. There’s a 13MP front camera for selfies and video calls.

The Samsung Galaxy A25 5G comes with a 5,000mAh battery and support for 25W fast charging. It also features Android 13-based OneUI 5 out of the box, and Samsung is promising four years of Android updates and five years of security support, although one of those updates will be spent bringing the Galaxy A25 to Android 14.

Samsung Galaxy A15 5G features, specs

The value-for-money Galaxy A15 5G is a watered-down version of the Galaxy A25 5G. The phone also features a 6.5-inch FHD+ Super AMOLED display with 90Hz refresh rate and a peak brightness of 800nits. There’s a waterdrop notch here as well, and this model is powered by an unspecified octa-core chip, along with 8GB RAM and 256GB storage.

Galaxy A15 5G users get a 50MP main camera without OIS, a 5MP secondary camera and a 2MP tertiary camera. There’s a 13MP camera here as well for selfies and video calls. The Galaxy A15 5G also features a 5,000mAH battery with 25W charging support, and also sports Android 13 out of the box, with Samsung providing four years of system updates and five years of security updates here as well.

Pricing and availability

The Samsung Galaxy A15 5G is priced starting at Rs 19,499 (8GB/128GB) and will be available in Blue, Light Blue and Blue-Black colours. Meanwhile, the Samsung Galaxy A25 5G is priced starting at Rs 26,999 (8GB/128GB) and will be available in Blue, Yellow and Blue-Black colours.

Other options available at this price, if OneUI is not particularly important to you, include the OnePlus Nord CE 3 Lite or the OnePlus Nord CE 3, or if you’re a MIUI fan, something like the Redmi Note 12 Pro. You may also want to wait for the Redmi Note 13 series, which is set to launch soon.
