Samsung Galaxy A15, A15 5G, A25 budget smartphones announced

Samsung has seen a lot of hype around its flagship smartphones this year. Namely, the S23 series, the Galaxy Z Fold5, and Galaxy Flip5. But the brand hasn’t forgotten about its more affordable segments. Just before 2023 ends, Samsung has taken the wraps off a few Galaxy A-series smartphones. Enter the new Galaxy A15, Galaxy A15 5G, and Galaxy A25 5G.

The Samsung Galaxy A15 and Galaxy A15 5G only differ in terms of the processors, and storage configurations. While the former is powered by a MediaTek Helio G99 chipset, the latter comes with a MediaTek Dimensity 6100+ SoC.  The Galaxy A15 comes with 8GB of RAM and either 128GB or 256GB of storage, and the Galaxy A15 5G comes in a single 8GB RAM and 256GB storage variant.

Coming to the display, the devices sport a 6.5-inch Super AMOLED display with a resolution of 1080 x 2340 pixels, a 90Hz refresh rate, and a peak brightness of 800 nits. The battery on the devices is a 5,000mAh unit with support for 25W wired charging.

Coming to optics, the Samsung Galaxy A15 and A15 5G come with a triple-camera setup at the rear with a 50MP main camera, a 5MP ultra-wide-angle camera, and a 2MP macro lens. On the front is a 13MP camera for selfies and video calls.

Samsung Galaxy A25 5G key specifications

The Samsung Galaxy A25 5G is powered by Samsung’s in-house chipset, the Exynos 1280 chipset. The device comes in 6 and 8GB RAM variants, with 128GB of storage. It features a 5,000mAh battery as well, with support for 25W wired charging.

The device features a 6.5-inch Super AMOLED screen with a resolution of 1080 x 2340 pixels, albeit with a peaking brightness of 1,000 nits, and a 120Hz refresh rate.

The camera setup on the Samsung Galaxy A25 5G happens to be the same as the Galaxy A15 and A15 5G, with a triple camera setup on the rear, consisting of a 50MP primary, 8MP ultrawide and 2MP macro lens. The front also gets a similar 13MP camera.

The Samsung Galaxy A15, A15 5G and A25 5G, all come running on Android 14-based One UI 6 straight out of the box. What’s cool is, Samsung has promised four years of OS updates and five years of security updates with all three devices.

The Galaxy A15, A15, and A25 5G will be available in black, blue, light blue, and yellow colour options. The smartphone has been announced in Vietnam, where prices start from VND 4,990,000 (approximately Rs 17,150) and go up to VND 6,590,000 (approximately Rs 22,650).
