The entry-level smartphone market is usually just phones with the bare minimum specifications put in a brick form factor. However, you sometimes get to see some unique propositions that can make these affordable phones great value-for-money offerings. The latest example of this is the new Galaxy A06.
Announced in select regions, the Samsung Galaxy A06 comes with some interesting specifications for the price. Here’s everything you need to know about the phone.
Samsung Galaxy A06: Specifications and features
The Samsung Galaxy A06 comes with a 6.7-inch HD+ LCD display panel. There’s a waterdrop-shaped notch on the top with the front camera. There are no fancy additions like high refresh rates or display protection certifications mentioned here.

The Android phone is powered by the MediaTek Helio G85 processor, which makes this a 4G device and not a 5G-supporting one. This is accompanied by up to 4GB RAM and 128GB storage, the latter being expandable via a MicroSD card to 1TB.
The highlight here is a 50MP main camera on the back which should let you take high-res images. There’s also a 2MP depth sensor on the back, and an 8MP front camera for selfies and video calls.
The phone also comes with two nano SIM slots and a dedicated MicroSD card slot. Other features include a side-mounted fingerprint scanner on the power button, a single button and Dolby Atmos support.
Lastly, there’s also a 5,000mAh battery with support for 25W wired fast charging, which Samsung claims will let you charge the phone up to 50 per cent in 30 minutes.
Pricing and availability
The Samsung Galaxy A06 is announced in Malaysia, and is priced at RM449 (about Rs 8,650). The phone is available in Light Green, Light Blue and Black colours. No word on the global and India availability of the phone is official yet, but we hope Samsung brings the phone to India, where the A-series has been available for years now.
