Xiaomi sub-brand Redmi has recently announced the Redmi Watch 4 globally, alongside the Redmi Note 13 4G smartphone. The new affordable smartwatch sports the biggest AMOLED display on a Redmi Watch yet, and also adds a new stainless-steel crown, making it a more premium offering than most other smartwatches in its segment.
Redmi also announced two new earbuds alongside the smartwatch, these being the Redmi Buds 5 and the Buds 5 Pro. Here’s everything you need know about these new products.
Redmi Watch 4: What's new?
The Redmi Watch 4 comes with a rectangular dial, sporting a 1.97-inch AMOLED display (450 x 390 pixels). This is coupled with a rotatable stainless-steel crown, which compliments the aluminium alloy dial. With the new change, the Redmi Watch has completely done away with plastic on the dial and will likely feel more premium than other rivals in its segment.

That’s not it. The Redmi Watch also comes with a new quick release mechanism for the straps, allowing users to replace the same on the fly with ease. It also has built-in GPS, heart-rate tracking, an SpO2 sensor and 5atm water resistance.
While the Redmi Watch 4 doesn’t run on WearOS like some recent Xiaomi watches, there is a basic proprietary operating system here, called HyperOS. It isn’t a full-fledged operating system with third-party app support, but will get the job done if what you need is a basic smartwatch experience.
The Redmi Watch 4 is priced at USD 107 (about Rs 8,880) globally, and it remains to be seen if the watch will be available in India anytime soon. If they do, they could be competing with watches like the Fire-Boltt Dream and the Nothing CMF Watch Pro.
Redmi Buds 5, Buds 5 Pro
Redmi also announced its Buds 5 series, comprising a base and a Pro variant. The Redmi Buds 5 come with 46dB ANC (Active Noise Cancellation), along with a similar design and about 10 hours of non-ANC battery life, 40 hours with the case.
The Redmi Buds 5 Pro is a little more interesting, offering better 52dB ANC and support for the LDAC codec. For those new to the term, LDAC is a high-quality audio codec that can make your music streaming sessions sound better, but only if your smartphone or any other playback device also supports the codec.

There is also an AI-powered selection feature for the ANC modes, that will allow the Redmi Buds 5 Pro to switch automatically switch between its three transparency modes.
The Redmi Buds 5 is priced at USD 46 (about Rs 3,820) while the Redmi Buds 5 Pro is priced at USD 78 (about Rs 6,500). Just like the Redmi Watch 4, both the earbuds are also yet to be launched in the Indian market.
