Xiaomi launched a couple of new products in India earlier this week, including the Redmi 12 5G, the new Xiaomi X-series 4K TVs, and the new Redmi Watch 3 Active. Affordability was a key theme of all three products, including the Redmi Watch 3 Active, which comes with a rectangular body, promising battery life, and multiple colour variants.

This makes the new smartwatch an awesome gift ahead of Friendship Day, perfect for the friends you want to get up and start taking their health and fitness seriously, while looking stylish and you not burning a hole in your own pocket. Here’s everything you need to know about the new smartwatch.

Redmi Watch 3 Active: What’s new?

The Redmi Watch 3 Active comes with a 1.83-inch LCD display with a 240 x 280 pixels resolution. The compact display can offer up to 450 nits adjustable brightness. Bluetooth 5.3-powered calling support lets users make and take cellular calls straight from their watch when connected to a smartphone, perfect for when on a run or other situations when your hands aren’t free.

Using the Mi Fitness app on your smartphone, the Redmi Watch 3 Active will let you sync up to 10 frequently used contacts for easy access and will also maintain call logs of up to 20 calls so users can quickly get back to conversations.

The watch also sports a 289mAh battery that can be charged magnetically via the provided charger. Xiaomi claims this battery lets the watch go on for up to 12 days on moderate use and up to eight days on moderate use, which means most users will only need to charge this wearable once a week.

The Redmi Watch 3 Active further comes with over 100 sports modes that help with calorie tracking for specific sports activities, as well as over 200 watch faces that let users customise the look of their smartwatch just the way they want it. Standard health tracking options like heart-rate monitoring and blood oxygen monitoring are also present on the Redmi smartwatch.

Lastly, the watch also comes with 5ATM water resistance, and is compatible with all smartphones running at least Android 6.0 or iOS 12. Fitness metrics recorded by the Redmi Watch 3 Active are also compatible with third-party apps like Strava and the Apple Health app.

Redmi Watch 3 Active price in India and availability details

The Redmi Watch 3 Active is priced at Rs 2,999 and will be available in two colours – Charcoal Black and Platinum Grey. However, there is also an Olive Green strap-only colour variant. The device will go on sale from later this week on August 4.

At the price it is offered at, the Redmi Watch 3 Active will go up against wearables like the Fire-Boltt Visionary, which features an AMOLED display panel, or the Pebble Cosmos Engage, which features an Apple Watch Ultra-like design, complete with a rotating crown on the side.
