A smartwatch or smart band is one of the most essential pieces of equipment in any fitness enthusiast’s arsenal today. Now smartwatches these days, irrespective of the price point come with a myriad of features. These include Bluetooth calling, GPS navigation, fall detection, and sleep tracking to name a few. Besides of course, the usual pedometers and heart rate sensors.
If you’re looking for something more minimalistic though, smart bands are where it’s at. And speaking of smart bands, Redmi has just announced its latest wearable – the Redmi Band 3. Here’s all you need to know about it.
Redmi Band 3: Key features and specifications
The Redmi Band 3 has a 1.47-inch rectangular screen with a resolution of 172×320 pixels and a 60Hz refresh rate. The smart band measures just 9.9mm in thickness, and weighs 16.5 grams. On offer is also a 5 ATM water resistance rating, which means sweat at the gym or the ocassional swim shouldn’t be a hassle for it.

The smart band, which comes running on Xiaomi’s HyperOS, also gets over 100 watch faces, support for contactless payments via NFC, Bluetooth 5.3 for connectivity, and of course, over 50 sports modes. It also gets all-day heart and blood oxygen level monitoring capabilities, coupled with scientific sleep tracking as well.
The Redmi Band 3 gets a 300mAh battery which the company claims, lasts for up to 18 days with typical usage. Under heavy workloads, the smart band can last for as long as 9 days. What’s cool is that the smart band also supports fast charging, and can charge from 0 to 100 per cent in less than two hours.
Redmi Band 3: Pricing and availability
The Redmi Band 3 is available in five colourways – Black, Beige, Dark Grey, and Green, Pink, and Yellow. It is priced at CNY 159 (Approximately Rs 1,900). Bear in mind however, the smart band is currently only available in China. Moreover, if and when it will go on sale in other international markets, remains unknown as of now.
