The Redmi A2 series of entry-level smartphones recently launched in India. The series consists of two phones – the Redmi A2 and the Redmi A2+ – both catering to users looking for a new smartphone on a budget. Here’s everything you need to know about the Redmi A2 India launch.

Redmi A2, A2+ features and specifications

The Redmi A2 and Redmi A2+ are quite similar, but with one key difference. The latter comes with a fingerprint sensor on the back, while the vanilla A2 doesn’t feature biometric authentication. Both smartphones come with 6.52-inch HD+ (720p) LCD screens.

The smartphones are powered by a MediaTek Helio G36 chipset and come in multiple storage variants. On the software front, both the Redmi A2 and Redmi A2+ come with Android 13 Go Edition, which is optimised for entry-level devices.

The smartphones also come with a dual-camera setup on the back. This includes an 8MP camera, a depth sensor, and a flash module. The phones also get a 5MP camera on the front for video calls and selfies.

For power, the Redmi A3 features also include a large 5,000mAh battery. The phone can be charged with at 10W speeds via its microUSB port.

Redmi A2, A2+ price and details

The Redmi A2 prices in India start from Rs 6,299 for the base variant that comes with 2GB RAM and 32GB storage. There is also a top-end variant of the Redmi A2 that comes with 4GB RAM and 64GB storage, and costs Rs 7,999.

Meanwhile the Redmi A2+ which features just one variant with 4GB RAM and 64GB storage comes in at Rs 8,499. Both phones are available in three colours – Aqua Blue, Classic Black, and Sea Green. The phones come with Xiaomi’s 2-year warranty and users can buy the Redmi A2 online and offline.
