Xiaomi has had a busy last couple of months with the Xiaomi Smarter Living Event 2024. Not long after, the brand also took the wraps off the Redmi Pad Pro 5G in China. But that’s not all; in more recent news, Xiaomi has announced the Redmi 13 series with the lineup’s first 108MP primary camera. The brand’s latest offering is available at an affordable price point and has currently begun rolling out for the European market. Here’s everything you need to know:

Redmi 13 4G smartphone: Key features and specifications

At first glance, the smartphone appears to look strikingly similar to its predecessor. It sports a 6.79-inch display, like the Redmi 12, but has an HD+ LCD screen with a 90Hz adaptive refresh rate. On the performance front, the phone comes with a MediaTek Helio G91-Ultra chipset. You also get peak brightness of 550nits and Gorilla Glass protection; however, the brand has not mentioned its version. In addition to this, Xiaomi has equipped the Redmi 13 with IP53 dust and splash resistance.

The smartphone comes with a punch-hole 13MP front-facing camera, a sleek, glass back panel and it comes in muted pastel colour options of Midnight Black, Sandy Gold, Pearl Pink and Ocean Blue. As for the front, the 108MP camera is the brand’s first for this series. With the Samsung ISOCELL HM6 sensor, users will be able to make the most of its 3x lossless zoom and improved night photography.

Lastly, the phone packs a 5030mAh battery and you also get 33W fast charging capabilities. Xiaomi also claims that the Redmi 13 can power up to 50 per cent within 26 minutes. If that’s not all, the company also mentions how users can also get up to 17 hours of video playback.

Redmi 13 4G: Price and availability

The Redmi 13 4G is currently only available for purchase in selected European countries. However, the brand has also begun rolling it out to Indonesian users from June 5 onwards. The smartphone is available in various storage options, including 6GB RAM with 128GB storage, 8GB RAM with 128GB storage and 8GB RAM with 256GB storage. The base model is priced at $180 (roughly Rs 15,025). Other smartphones offering a similar set of features within this price range include the OnePlus Nord CE 3 Lite 5G and the vivo T3x 5G.
