Realme GT 5 Pro announced to take on the OnePlus 12

It’s been just two days since OnePlus unveiled its much-talked-about flagship device, the OnePlus 12. And before the device goes on sale, realme has come out with a competing device, called the realme GT 5 Pro.

Realme GT 5 Pro features and key specifications

The new realme GT 5 Pro is powered by a Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 chipset and an Adreno 750 GPU, same as the OnePlus 12. The smartphone will be available in four variants – a base variant with 12GB RAM and 256GB of storage, mid-tier variants with 16GB of RAM, and either 256 or 512GB of storage, and a top-of-the-line variant with 16GB of RAM and 1TB of storage.

The realme smartphone also comes with a 5,400mAh battery, which supports 100W wired fast charging and 50W wireless charging – same as the OnePlus 12. Other features include a curved 6.78-inch display with a 1.5K resolution (1,264 x 2,780 pixels), with a refresh rate of up to 144Hz, and a peak brightness of 4,500 nits – again the only device besides the OnePlus 12 to do so, currently. For audio, the device packs dual stereo speakers with support for Dolby Atmos, as well as Hi-Res audio.

Coming to the cameras, the device features a triple camera setup at the rear, housed in a large circular camera island. The camera setup comprises of a 50MP Sony LYT-808 primary sensor with support for optical image stabilisation, a 50MP Sony IMX890 telephoto periscope lens, and an 8MP Sony IMX355 ultra-wide-angle sensor with a 112-degree field of view. On the front of the device is a 32MP Sony IMX615 camera for selfies and video calls, placed in a punch-hole-cutout in the centre.

The device comes running on Android 14-based realme UI 5.0 straight out of the box.

Realme GT 5 Pro pricing and availability

The realme GT 5 Pro is available in three colourways – Red Rock, Starry Night, and Bright Moon.

The device is priced at CNY 3,298 (approximately Rs 38,700) for the 12GB RAM and 256GB storage variant, CNY 3,598 (approximately Rs 42,200) for the 16GB RAM and 256GB storage variant, whereas the 16GB RAM and 512 GB storage, and 16GB RAM and 1TB storage variants are priced at CNY 3898 (approximately Rs 45,700) and CNY 4,198 (approximately Rs 49,200).
