About a month after Realme took the wraps off of its Realme 12 Pro and Realme 12 Pro+ 5G smartphones, it has launched two new affordable additions to the lineup. Namely, the Realme 12 5G and Realme 12+ 5G. Here’s all you need to know about the two latest mid-range devices in the company’s lineup. Read on.
Realme 12 5G features and key specifications
The Realme 12 5G is powered by the MediaTek Dimensity 6100+ chipset and can be had in two storage variants – one with 6GB of RAM and another with 8GB RAM, both with 128GB storage. Under the hood of the device is a 5,000mAh battery with support for 45W SuperVOOC fast charging. Realme claims that the device can be charged to 50 per cent in about 30 minutes.

The Realme 12 5G gets a 6.72-inch LCD display with an FHD+ resolution, a refresh rate that can be varied between 45Hz and 120Hz, and 950 nits of peak brightness. The device misses out on the vegan leather back of its more expensive siblings. For audio, there is a dual stereo speaker setup on the phone.
What’s cool is, the Realme 12 5G also gets what Realme calls the “Dynamic Button.” The button, which is the power button on the device, doubles up as one that can be used to toggle the camera, flashlight, airplane mode, as well as do-not-disturb, amongst other features. It is inspired by the Action Button on the iPhone 15 Pro and iPhone 15 Pro Max.
The Realme 12 5G gets a dual camera setup at the rear, enclosed in a large, centered camera island, with a 108MP Samsung HM6 primary sensor and a 2MP secondary sensor. On the front, housed in a punch-hole cutout, is an 8MP camera for selfies and video calls.
Realme 12+ 5G features and key specifications
The Realme 12+ is powered by the MediaTek Dimensity 7050 chipset and also can be had in two storage variants – both with 8GB RAM and either 128GB or 256GB of storage. The device packs a 5,000mAh battery similar to the Realme 12 5G.
However, it gets support for 67W SuperVOOC fast charging this time around. What’s also cool is, the Realme 12+ 5G also gets the 3D VC liquid cooling system which it’s more expensive siblings – the Realme 12 Pro and Realme 12 Pro+ 5G.
The Realme 12+, strangely, gets a slightly smaller 6.67-inch display. However, it is an AMOLED unit. The display, again, gets an FHD+ resolution, and a 120Hz refresh rate. What’s more, it also gets a peak brightness of 2,000 nits and an HDR 10+ certification.

The Realme 12+ 5G gets “Rainwater smart touch” technology, which is similar to the Aqua Touch display on the OnePlus 12, which helps prevent any ghost touches and ensures easy navigation even when the screen is wet. Add to it the IP54 water and dust resistance rating, and the phone can handle the elements with ease. The device, unlike its cheaper sibling, gets a vegan leather back, and a neat metallic surround across the camera island.
Coming to optics, the Realme 12+ 5G gets a triple camera setup at the rear, again, in a large, circular camera island. It consists of a 50MP Sony LYT-600 primary sensor with support for OIS, an 8MP periscope telephoto sensor, and a 2MP portrait bokeh sensor.
Both the Realme 12 5G and Realme 12+ 5G come running on Android 14-based Realme UI 5.0 straight out of the box.
