Qualcomm has announced its new Qualcomm Snapdragon 4s Gen 2 chipset, bringing affordable 5G chipsets to more Android phones. The new chip comes with a new multi-core design, features like better GPS performance, and more. Here’s everything you need to know.
Qualcomm Snapdragon 4s Gen 2: What’s new?
The new chip comes with two performance cores that can clock up to 2GHz, as well as six efficiency cores that can clock 1.8GHz speeds. Together, the architecture will be able to save battery while performing day-to-day tasks, and use more power during heavier use-cases like some casual gaming.

The Snapdragon 4s Gen 2 also comes with the Snapdragon 5G Modem-RF System, which supports up to 1Gbps download speeds on 5G networks. For graphics, there is the Qualcomm Adreno GPU with OpenGL ES 3.2, OpenCL 2.0, Vulkan 1.1 support.
The chip will also support up to 84MP photo capturing and 1080p video recording at 60fps. Other supported specifications include Wi-Fi 5, Bluetooth 5.1, Full HD resolutions with up to 90Hz refresh rate, UFS 3.1 storage, and several GPS certifications including GLONASS, BeiDou, Galileo, and NavIC.
The Snapdragon 4s Gen 2 will come to smartphones later this year, as more OEMs will pick the chipset up for their newer devices.
