Pokémon is a franchise that requires no introduction. Spanning across games, television, films, manga, music, and merchandise; the media empire is known to all. So, when the Pokémon app was being phased out; fans were left distraught.
However, there is good news for Pokémon fans. Pokémon TV is coming back as a YouTube channel, which in all honesty, is the best way for the platform to exist for fans around the globe.
Pokémon TV on YouTube: What's new?
Pokémon TV was first introduced in 2010 on the official Pokémon website. It was then launched as a mobile app in 2013 followed by being added to the Nintendo Switch Shop in 2021. The decision to discontinue the app came as a shock, especially since all episodes were to be delisted from all available platforms. After that, the Pokémon TV shut down entirely on March 31.

Fortunately, the next step for Pokémon TV app has been revealed in the form of a YouTube channel. Before the episodes are made live, the YouTube channel is already functional. The description of the channel states that viewers will be able to “explore the world of Pokémon with Ash and Pikachu.”
Based on the description, it looks like the YouTube channel will stream episodes from Ash and Pikachu’s 25-season journey starting from December 6.
Last year, the anime was rebooted with Pokémon Horizons: The Series. Based on the Pokémon Scarlet and Violet games, the new season features a new set of protagonists, Liko and Roy. Their new adventure is set in the Paldea region. There is no information if this show will be a part of the Pokémon TV channel.
The best thing about the comeback of Pokémon TV us that the episodes will be streamed for free. Subscribers will not require a paid subscription to watch their favourite Pokémon TV episodes on YouTube yet.
Since only a limited amount of information is available at the moment, information around the full schedule and duration of the uploads are still unclear.
