Pokémon TCG Pocket: How to level up and unlock battles in the game

Just the other day, we saw yet another smash-hit game released from the Pokémon franchise –Pokémon TCG Pocket. The game, reports suggest, has already earned over $12 million in revenues since launch (just five days ago). And for good reason. The game brings the childhood nostalgia of playing with trading cards right to your smartphones.

Just as in any other game, as you progress through it, you obtain experience and booster packs to rise up the ranks and unlock different features of the game. One such feature central to the gameplay experience is battles, for which you need to reach level three. And if you’re a beginner wondering just how to do that, you came to the right place. Read on.

How to unlock battles in Pokémon TCG Pocket using booster packs

Now, everyone starts Pokémon TCG Pocket at level one with no cards in their collection. But, you are given a booster pack to instantly open and kickstart things at the beginning —post which, stamina is required to open any such packs in the future.

Your stamina bar typically takes twelve hours to refill, which means one can ideally open two such packs a day. The more booster packs one opens, the more they level up. Using pack hourglasses also allows for the stamina bar to fill instantly, which in turn allows you to open a booster pack on demand.

How to earn pack hourglasses to open booster packs on demand

Opening booster packs is the primary way of leveling up in Pokémon TCG Pocket. Each time one opens a pack, they grow their card collection and thus get closer to the next level. To help ensure the same, keep an eye on the ‘Missions’ tab. Here, you’ll find several missions that can be quickly completed and will award you pack hourglasses.

These as mentioned earlier, allow you to refill your stamina bar, which In turn allows you to open more booster packs. Keep an active track of your mission progress and redeem any pack of hourglasses as you get them, to reach level three in no time.
