Home security, now more than ever, is gaining importance. Whether we’re concerned about our safety or our loved ones and pets, having a security solution lends an added layer of comfort when leaving the house alone for an extended amount of time.

Philips recently introduced a new entrant to its security camera lineup, which offers improved features and artificial intelligence technology for all the protection you may need. It’s called the Philips 5000 series security camera, and here’s everything you need to know about it.

Philips 5000 series security camera: Key features and specifications

The Philips 5000 series indoor 360-degree security camera is built to look sleek and compact on your desk or at home. The device sports a 3MP camera that offers up to 2K resolution and 360-degree coverage.

What’s more, Philips has even added enhanced IR night vision that can give you a clear view under low-light conditions of up to 10 meters. The camera can record movements with its tilt and zoom features to ensure no activity within your space goes unrecorded.

Furthermore, Philips has thrown in a privacy shutter for your camera to stop recording in case of a personal event. The brand mentions how the camera and its functions can both be controlled using the Philips Home Safety app on your smartphone. Additionally, you have the option of a two-way conversation as the camera supports audio connectivity from anywhere through the app.

Lastly, the Philips 5000 series security camera comes integrated with AI technology that can easily identify sounds within your house, such as pets, child crying, people or doorbells.

This feature can help users create a custom alert to get notified about any unusual sounds in the house. Philips also states that any footage recorded by the camera is stored on local storage but can move to a cloud-based service once connected to a Wi-Fi network.

The Philips 5000 series indoor 360 security camera is priced at Rs 8,995 and can be purchased online from the brand’s official website starting today. However, it will gradually also be made available across major retail and e-commerce portals.
