Not long after the stable update of OxygenOS 15 was made available on the OnePlus 12, it has now been extended to OnePlus 12R smartphone globally. While the beta update was rolled out last month, users are now receiving a stable OxygenOS 15 (Android 15) on the smartphone. Let’s check out what the new update provides to its users.
OxygenOS 15: Animations
In the new update, a state-of-the-art system graphics engine powers a better rendering and animation performance. It uses an advanced parallel processing that ensures smooth visuals while multitasking or using apps that require more processing power, memory, and bandwidth.
This parallel processing also extends to elements like widgets, components, and folders. This helps makes switching between apps easier on the smartphone. It is said to perform even when there are frequent interruptions.
To provide a uniform scrolling experience across the entire system, swipe consistency has been extended to third party apps like WebView interfaces.
OxygenOS 15: Visual effects
Coming to visual effects, the ‘Home’ screen features a refreshed design that balances enhanced proportions and vibrant colours for sharper visuals.
To improve visual uniformity, the new operating system has updated system function icons. It showcases new icon designs with rounded corners. This ensures continuous curvature applied across all elements.
OxygenOS 15: Themes
The OxygenOS 15 offers a selection of flux theme that provide system wallpaper customisation along with displaying personal photos for a unique and personal experience.
These themes also provide other customisation features for Always-On Display, Lock screen, and Home screen. The Always-On Display supports both flux and classic modes.
The Lock screen gets clock colour blending, glass textures, blurred wallpapers, AI auto-fills, AI depth effects, and more features. The Home screen also receives additional elements like Glass patterns and blurred wallpapers.
Since Flux themes provide a fluid transition animation, the new update extends it to the Lock screen, and Home Screen for visual consistency.
OxygenOS 15: Fluid Cloud
The new update features an updated Fluid Cloud that supports a wide range of overseas applications like Spotify, Swiggy, and Zomato. This app compatibility enables real-time information sync.
The new design focuses on efficient information visualisation. It is position in the center for a balanced and streamlined display. When users interact with alerts, the capsules expand into detailed cards. By swiping in the status bar, it provides efficient access to multiple live activities.
The new animation system features an elastic design with dynamic blurring effect in real-time which makes the experience of making card visual more refined.
OxygenOS 15: Photo editing
Updating to the new operating system provides users with the new reversible photo editing capability. This functionality saves the previous edits settings to provide a seamless edit while ensuring an uninterrupted creative flow.
Oxygen OS 15: Floating Window and Split View
The new update brings with Floating Window gestures that were not available in the previous updates. A swipe down on a notification banner will open a floating window. Another swipe down will enlarge it. Users can use swipe up to close the window or swipe sideways to hide it.

The resizable Split View allows the users to drag the divider. Users can even tap it to extend the display area as per requirement.
OxygenOS 15: Notification and Quick Settings
The new Split mode allows separate access to the notification drawer. It can be accessed with a top-left swipe. In order to approach Quick Settings, users need to swipe from the top-right corner. To transition between these panels, users can swipe left or right to switch on the smartphone.
Quick Settings get a visually appealing layout with smoother and refined animations.
OxygenOS 15: OnePlus Share
OnePlus Share allows connecting and sharing files with iOS devices. The transfer capabilities extend to Apple devices.
OxygenOS 15: Battery and charging
To extent battery life and minimise degradation, the new “Charging Limit” feature halts at 80 per cent.
If the device remains on charge for too long, the new battery protection reminder activates the Charging Limit feature. This safeguard helps to enhance battery protection.
OxygenOS 15: Privacy and Safety
To simplify data management, the Private Safe is optimised by implementing categorised views for images, videos, and documents.
To provide quick access to the new Home screen shortcut for hidden apps, users can tap on the folder and verify their privacy password.
