Oxygen OS 14 stable update starts rolling out for OnePlus Open

Oxygen OS 14 has been around for a while now and has made its way to several OnePlus devices including the OnePlus 12 and OnePlus 11 series, as well as the older OnePlus 10T  and OnePlus 9 series. A few mid-range devices including the OnePlus Nord 3 and the Nord 2T also got the update recently.

Strangely, however, the Oxygen OS 14 update wasn’t seen on the OnePlus Open – the brand’s first foray into the foldable smartphone segment, and its most expensive offering as well. Until now.

OnePlus has just begun rolling out the Android 14-based Oxygen OS 14 stable update to the OnePlus Open in India. Here is how to install the same to your OnePlus Open device and the features to look out for on it.

How to install Oxygen OS 14 on your OnePlus Open

Here’s how to install the Oxygen OS 14 update to your OnePlus Open

1. Head to the Settings app on your phone.

3. On the top, you’ll find a box that mentions the current version of the operating system on your device. Tap on it.

While you’re doing this, ensure your phone is charged up to at least 50 per cent, and that it has at least 6.5GB of free space. In addition to this, also ensure that you have a fast and stable internet connection, and enough charge.

Features to look out for on Oxygen OS 14

The new Oxygen OS 14 update for the OnePlus Open gets several new features worth looking out for. Just some of these include –

1. Aqua dynamics, which allows you to view up-to-date information at all times.

2. File Dock, to transfer content between apps and devices as well.

3. Content extraction, a tool that recognises and extracts texts and images from the screen.

4. Smart cutout, a feature that separates and cuts out objects in a picture from the background to be shared individually.

5. Aquamorphic Design 2.0, with gentler, more neutral colours on the OS.

6. A carbon tracking application which visualises the carbon emissions you can avoid by walking or taking public transport, rather than your own vehicle.

Bear in mind that the update is first rolling out for those who were on the beta tests for Oxygen OS 14, and it might be a little while before you get to see the update on your device.
