Oppo Reno 11 could be 2024’s first camera-focused phone

Camera lovers who want to get a new smartphone with great optics, without spending too much will soon have another contender to look forward to. This is because Oppo is bringing in the next refresh in its camera-focused Reno series. The new phone, the Oppo Reno 11, is set to launch soon in India.

Oppo has taken to X (previously Twitter) to confirm that the Oppo Reno 11 will launch soon in India. The announcement comes soon after the Reno 11 series was also confirmed to launch in Malaysia, which will also be the first time we’ll get an official look at ColorOS 14,

Oppo Reno 11 series: What we know so far

The Oppo Reno 11 series is expected to feature two smartphones – the Oppo Reno 11 and the Oppo Reno 11 Pro. A lot of the specifications of both devices are already speculated via leaks and rumours.

The Reno 11, for instance, is expected to sport a 6.7-inch FHD+ display with an OLED panel and 120Hz refresh rate and 950 nits peak brightness. The Reno 11 Pro, is also expected to feature a 6.7-inch OLED screen, but with a higher resolution, 120Hz refresh rate and 1600 nits peak brightness.

While the Oppo Reno 11 is expected to feature the MediaTek Dimensity 8200 chip, the Oppo Reno 11 Pro is expected to sport the Qualcomm Snapdragon 8+ Gen 1 chipset. Both phones are expected to feature 8GB-12GB RAM and 128GB-512GB storage.

Coming to the cameras, both the Oppo Reno 11 and Oppo Reno 11 Pro are set to get triple camera setups on the back. Both the Oppo Reno 11 and Reno 11 Pro are expected to feature a 50MP main camera with OIS, an 8MP ultrawide camera, and a 32MP telephoto camera, along with a 32MP front camera.

Other specifications include a slightly larger battery on the Reno 11 Pro (4,800mAh vs 4,700mAh), and faster charging support (80W vs 67W). Both phones are expected to launch with Android 14-based ColorOS 14.

Note that while Oppo has not revealed an official launch date just yet, we do expect the two new devices to launch later this month in January. This would make them the new year’s first camera-focused mid-range devices, and solid contenders for shutterbugs looking to buy a new phone without spending much.
