Oppo Find X8 Ultra is a feature-packed flagship for camera enthusiasts

Oppo has announced the much-anticipated Oppo Find X8 Ultra. As the name suggests, it’s an ultra-flagship that sits above the Oppo Find X8 Pro, which we reviewed recently. Just like its name, it comes with all the ultra-premium features, including a 2K AMOLED screen, a 1-inch type sensor, and a Snapdragon 8 Elite chipset.

What’s special about the Oppo Find X8 Ultra?

The Oppo Find X8 Ultra is built on the design of the Find X8 and the Find X8 Pro, with a large bezel-less screen on the front and a huge camera island on the rear. Like the Pro model, the Ultra also gets IP68 and IP69 certifications for dust and water resistance.

The smartphone features a 6.82-inch AMOLED display with a QHD+ resolution of 3168 x 1440 pixels. The screen can go up to 120Hz of maximum refresh rate, and it can go all the way down to 1Hz, thanks to the LTPO magic.

In terms of cameras, the device has a quad camera system on the rear with a 50MP 1-inch type sensor. It’s a Sony LYT-900 sensor which we have seen on the Xiaomi 15 Ultra. The main sensor is assisted by a 50MP Samsung JN5 ultra-wide unit, a 50MP LYT800 3x telephoto sensor, and a 50MP LYT-600 6x periscope telephoto sensor.

The main and the periscope telephoto camera sensors have OIS support for stable footage. Thanks to the telephoto cameras, the device can offer 120x optical zoom support. For selfies, there’s a 32MP Sony IMX808 sensor.

At the helm, the Find X8 Ultra is powered by a Snapdragon 8 Elite chipset chipset, paired with up to 16GB of LPDDR5X RAM and 1TB of UFS 4.0 storage. For battery, it houses a 6,100mAh cell with 100W SuperVOOC wired charging and 50W wireless charging

In terms of connectivity, there’s 5G, Wi-Fi 7, Bluetooth 5.4, and GPS support. It has dual-antienna NFC and USB Type-C for charging. The device runs Android 15 out of the box with ColorOS 15 on top.

How much does the Oppo Find X8 Ultra cost?

The Oppo Find X8 Ultra is priced at CNY 6,499 (about Rs 76,300) for the base 12GB + 256GB variant and it goes all the way up to CNY 7,999 (about Rs 93,900) for the 16GB + 1TB variant. It comes in Starry Black, Moonlight White, and Morning Light colour options.

The device will hit the shelves on April 16 in China. It’s unclear if Oppo plans to launch it in other markets, including India. But in the same price range, you can check out the Oppo Find X8 Pro or the Xiaomi 15 Ultra in India. Both feature great cameras and are powered by a flagship-grade chipset.
