Oppo F25 Pro 5G is a mid-range phone that’s not afraid of water or dust

The mid-range smartphone segment has seen a lot of action lately, with several offerings from companies including Redmi, Vivo, and Realme having been launched in the past couple of months. Nothing is also planning to launch its Nothing Phone (2a) on March 5. Well, the latest entrant on the scene happens to be Oppo, which has launched the F25 Pro 5G.

Here are five things you need to know about the company’s latest affordable offering.

Performance, battery and storage

The Oppo F25 Pro 5G is powered by an octa-core MediaTek Dimensity 7050 processor, coupled with a Mali-G68 MC4 GPU. The phone can be had in two configurations – one with 8GB LPDDR4 RAM and 128GB UFS 3.1 storage, and another with 8GB of RAM as well, but with 256GB storage.

The device packs a 5,000mAh battery with 67W SuperVOOC fast charging, which should ensure all-day use with ease, as well as quick charging times, as and when you need it.

Display and design

The display on Oppo’s latest phone is a curved 6.7-inch Full HD+ AMOLED display, with a variable refresh rate of up to 120Hz, and a peak brightness of 1,100 nits.

The screen also has a 93.4 per cent screen-is-to-body ratio and is protected by Panda Glass. The device also gets an IP65 water and dust resistance rating.

Cameras

Coming to optics, the Oppo F25 Pro 5G sports a triple camera setup at the rear, with a 64MP primary sensor, an 8MP ultra-wide-angle sensor, and a 2MP macro sensor. On the front, is a 32MP camera for selfies and video calls. What’s cool is, the phone also supports 4K video recording at 30fps, both on the front and back.

Connectivity options

Connectivity options on the Oppo F25 Pro 5G include Wi-Fi 6 and Bluetooth 5.2 support, a dual-sim slot, as well as GPS, BeiDou, Glonass, and Galileo support. There’s also a USB Type-C port which can be used for charging and data transfers and also doubles up as an earphone jack.

Software

The F25 Pro 5G runs Android 14-based ColorOS 14 out-of-the-box, and Oppo has guaranteed three years of OS upgrades and four years of security updates.

Oppo F25 Pro 5G pricing and availability

The Oppo F25 Pro 5G is available in Lava Red and Ocean Blue colourways. It is priced at Rs 23,999 for the 128GB storage variant and Rs 25,999 for the 256GB storage variant.

The device is currently available for pre-order, and goes on sale on March 5. A few other options one can consider in this price range are the Realme 12 Pro 5G, the OnePlus Nord CE 3, and the Redmi Note 13 5G.
